Syed Amir Faruk vs State of Rajasthan

This original application is registered on the basis of the letter petition received from Sayed Amir Faruk resident of Gol Tonk, Rajasthan with the plea that Banas River is flowing at some distance from Village Thikaria Tonk Rajasthan and the Sewage Treatment Plant which is set up outside the village is discharging the polluted water in the river as a result of which even the ground water in the area is contaminated and colour of the river water has turned black and river water has become unfit for drinking. It is also alleged that nearby ditches are filled with the sewage water damaging the environment.

The issue which is raised in the letter petition needs to be considered at the first instance, by the Member Secretary, Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board (RSPCB).

Hence, we dispose of the present OA directing the Member Secretary, RSPCB to duly look into the grievance raised in the letter petition and take remedial action in accordance with law. Let the action taken report be submitted before the Registrar General of the Tribunal within three months by e-mail at [email protected] preferably in the form of searchable PDF/OCR Support PDF and not in the form of Image PDF. If found necessary, the matter will be listed before the Bench for consideration.

A copy of this order, along with a copy of the letter petition, be forwarded to the Member Secretary, RSPCB by e-mail for compliance.

The OA is accordingly disposed of.
