Judgment
Grievance of the applicant- Mr. K. S. Sahadeva Raja is regarding construction of Panchayat Office of Sammanthapuram Village, Rajapalayam Taluk, Virudhunagar District on water bodies and also by cutting of old Pulliyamtrees (Tarmind) by District Collector Virudhunagar, Tehsildar Rajapalayam, PWD Division Rajaplayam and PDO of Rajapalayam Panchayat. He has prayed that the water bodies be directed to be preserved and District Collector and other officials be restrained from carrying out cutting of trees and be also restrained from carrying out of any kind of construction on water bodies at Village Sammanthapuram, Taluk Rajapalayam, District Virudhunagar.
In view of above, we constitute a Joint Committee consisting of the State PCB, District Magistrate & Divisional Forest Officer, Virudhunagar District, Tamil Nadu. The State PCB will be the Nodal agency for coordination and compliance. The Joint Committee may meet within four weeks and undertake site visit and look into the grievance of the applicant. Factual and action taken report may be furnished before the Ld. Registrar General, National Green Tribunal, Principal Bench at New Delhi within three months by e-mail at [email protected] preferably in the form of searchable PDF/OCR Support PDF and not in the form of Image PDF, who may, if necessary, put up the matter before the Principal Bench for directions.
The application is disposed of.
A copy of this order, along with a copy of the complaint, be forwarded to the State PCB, District Magistrate & Divisional Forest Officer, Virudhunagar District, Tamil Nadu by e-mail for compliance.
