This original application has been registered under Section 14& 15 of the National Green Tribunal Act, 2010 (hereinafter referred to as ‘NGT Act, 2010’) on a letter petition dated 27.12.2022 from Vipin Raghav S/o Khajan Singh, R/o 18, Saboli, Delhi.

Grievance is that the applicant is resident of H. No. 18, Main Rani Bazar Road, Khasra No. 405, near Saboli Railway Fatak, Delhi and near his house, some people are running casting furnaces emitting huge smoke causing air pollution. The said units are being run in utter violation of environmental laws and norms and no action has been taken by concerned authorities despite repeated complaints. It is also stated that a unit was sealed but one Rajmal has broke open the seal and running unit illegally.

In our view, the issue raised in this application can be looked into by concerned local authorities, for the purpose whereof, we constitute a joint committee comprising DPCC and District Magistrate, East Delhi who shall look into the matter, visit the site, collect relevant information and if finds violation, would take appropriate remedial action including, preventive and punitive action (including, assessment of environmental compensation) within two months.

The  nodal  agency  will  be  District  Magistrate,  East  Delhi  for coordination and compliance.

An action taken report may be filed with Registrar General, NGT by e-mail at [email protected] preferably in the form of searchable PDF/OCR Support PDF and not in the form of Image PDF. If any further direction is found necessary, he may place the matter before the Bench.

A copy of this order along with a copy of complaint be forwarded to DPCC and District Magistrate, East Delhi by email for compliance.
