Judgment
This original application under Sections 14 and 15 of National Green Tribunal Act, 2010 (hereinafter referred to as ‘NGT Act, 2010’) has been registered on a letter petition received on 29.07.2022 from residents of Bidasar, District Churu, Rajasthan.
It is said that there are several industries in Industrial Area operated by RIICO where copper scrap is being burnt during night emanating poisonous gases causing serious health hazards and damaging environment and also causing air pollution.
In our view, the complaint made and issue raised in this application can be looked into by the local authorities, for the purpose whereof, we constitute a joint Committee comprising State PCB and District Magistrate, Churu, who shall look into the matter, visit the site, collect relevant information, and if finds any violation, would take remedial action in accordance with law within two months.
District Magistrate, Churu will be nodal agency for coordination and compliance.
An action taken report may be submitted to Registrar General of this Tribunal by e-mail at [email protected] preferably in the form of searchable PDF/ OCR Support PDF and not in the form of Image PDF. If found necessary, the matter may be placed before the Bench for further directions.
With the above observations and directions, the application is disposed of.
A copy of this order, alongwith copy of complaint, be forwarded to State PCB and District Magistrate, Churu by e-mail for compliance.
