The petitioner through instant petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India is seeking directions to respondents to re-issue her passport.

The petitioner was issued passport on 11.04.2018. At that point of time she was unmarried. The petitioner after getting married filed an application seeking addition of particulars of her spouse. The respondents issued passport which was sent through post. The respondents by mistake dispatched two passports. Both the passports were returned by the Postal Department to Passport Authority. The respondent vide letter dated 09.08.2023 (Annexure P-7) asked the petitioner to furnish clarification with respect to the discrepancies.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that till date the petitioner has not been issued passport though there in no lapse on her part.

Learned counsel for the respondents submits that passport of the petitioner is ready, however, Passport Authority needs clarification of few doubts, thus, petitioner may be directed to appear before Passport Authority and clarify her position.

Learned counsel for the petitioner agrees to aforesaid arrangement.

In the wake of statements of both sides, the present petition stands disposed of with a direction to the petitioner to appear before Passport Authority on 07.12.2023 at 10:00 AM along with requisite documents.
