The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondent to correct his date of birth in the passport.
Learned counsel for the petitioner inter alia contends that petitioner in his application seeking passport disclosed correct date of birth, however, respondent in the passport issued on 27.03.2023 has recorded incorrect date of birth. The petitioner has submitted representation dated 13.09.2023.
Learned counsel for Union of India submits that petitioner may be directed to appear before passport authority alongwith requisite documents and, thereafter, the passport authority would pass an appropriate order.
Learned counsel for the petitioner agrees to the aforesaid arrangement.
The petitioner is directed to appear before the passport authority on 02.01.2024 alongwith requisite documents. On doing so, the passport authority would pass an appropriate order.
The petition stands disposed of.
