The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to passport authority to take appropriate action against respondent No. 3 who has got passport re-issued by concealing material facts.

The petitioner claims that respondent No. 3-Jaideep Singh has got re-issued his passport which was valid till 11.04.2022. He has wrongly disclosed his marital status. She has filed complaint to passport authority but to no avail.

Ms. Shweta Nahata, Senior Panel Counsel for Union of India, who on advance notice is present in Court, accepts notice and waives service.

With the consent of both sides, the petition is taken up for final disposal today itself.

Ms. Shweta Nahata, Senior Panel Counsel for Union of India submits that competent authority would look into representation of the petitioner and take action within eight weeks, in accordance with law.

Counsel for the petitioner agrees to the aforesaid arrangement.

In the wake of statement of both sides, the petition stands disposed of. Nothing stated herein shall be construed as an expression of opinion of this Court.
