The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondents to re-issue him passport.

The petitioner vide application dated 06.01.2024 has applied for re-issuance of passport. He was embroiled in FIR No.19 dated 26.04.2020, under Sections 323, 325, 34, 188 of IPC, registered at Police Station Maloud, District Khanna. The police after completing investigation has filed Cancellation report. The petitioner is not involved in any other offence still passport authority is not issuing him passport.

Notice of motion.

Mr. Shubham Thakur, Central Government Counsel for Union of India and Mr. Aman Dhir, DAG, Punjab, who on advance notice are present in Court, accept notice and waive service.

With the consent of both sides, the petition is taken up for final disposal.

Mr. Aman Dhir, DAG, Punjab concedes to the above-mentioned factual position.

Faced with this, Mr. Shubham Thakur, Central Government Counsel submits that the passport authority would adjudicate application of the petitioner within eight weeks.

Learned counsel for the petitioner agrees to the aforesaid arrangement.

In the wake of statement of both sides, the petition stands disposed of.
