This Writ Petition is filed alleging interference by the respondent police with the life and liberty of the petitioner by visiting her residence and harassing her without authority of law.

Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Assistant Government Pleader for Home, appearing for respondents No.1 to 4.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner's son is working in Kerala and that, under the guise of serving summons upon him in connection with a crime registered against him, the respondent police barged into the petitioner’s house and subjected her to harassment.

Learned Assistant Government Pleader for Home has furnished a copy of the written instructions received by him and submitted that the Cyber Crime Police of the State of Kerala approached respondent No.4 on 05.08.2026 for assistance in serving summons issued by the Court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Alappuzha, upon Mohd. Adnan, R/o.419/C/322, 18-12, Hafez Baba Nagar, Ismath Colony, Bandlaguda. by the said summons, Mohd. Adnan was required to appear before the Court on 14.08.2026 at 11:00 A.M. It is further submitted that the Cyber Crime Police, Kerala, sought assistance of respondent No.4 to trace the accused and serve the summons upon him. Accordingly, respondent No.4 extended the necessary assistance to the Cyber Crime Police, Kerala, in tracing the residential premises of the accused. It is further submitted that, except for extending such assistance for tracing the residential premises of the accused, respondent No.4 did not act beyond the scope of the said requisition. Therefore, the allegations made by the petitioner are denied.

Having regard to the above submissions, and also taking note of the submission that the summons have already been served upon the petitioner and the accused, the respondent police are directed not to harass the petitioner or interfere with her life and liberty except in accordance with law and for a justifiable cause.

With the above observations and directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.

Miscellaneous applications, if any, pending shall stand closed.
