Judgment
Ahanthem Bimol Singh, J
[1] Heard Mr. M. Hemchandra, learned senior counsel assisted by Md. Juno Rahaman, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr. H. Samarjit, learned GA appearing for the respondents.
[2] In view of the limited prayer made by the petitioner and as agreed to by the learned counsel appearing for the parties, the present writ petition is disposed of at the motion stage.
[3] At the outset, Mr. M. Hemchandra, learned senior counsel submitted that the petitioner will be satisfied for the time being if the present writ petition is disposed of by issuing a direction to the Chief Secretary, Government of Manipur, to consider the representation dated 22-04-2024 submitted by the petitioner on its own merit and to dispose of the same by issuing appropriate order within a stipulated period.
[4] Mr. H. Samarjit, learned GA appearing for the respondents fairly submitted that as the prayer of the petitioner is confined to the consideration and disposal of the representation submitted by the petitioner, he has no objection in disposing of the present writ petition as prayed for by the learned senior counsel appearing for the petitioner.
[5] In view of the submission made above by the learned counsel appearing for the parties, the Chief Secretary, Government of Manipur is hereby directed to consider the aforesaid representation dated 22-04-2024 submitted by the petitioner on its own merit and strictly in terms of the applicable rules and guidelines and to dispose of the same by issuing a speaking order within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order.
[6] With the aforesaid directions, the present writ petition is disposed of.
