Application is registered based on a complaint received by post/e-mail
This original application has been registered under Sections 14 and 15 of National Green Tribunal Act, 2010 on the basis of a letter petition dated 01.06.2022 received from Lal Chand Mehto, former Minister Jharkhand at Ranchi.
The complaint is that heavy industrial unit namely Vedanta ESL Steel Limited, Siyaljodi, Bokaro which is emitting NOX, a poisonous gas, causing air pollution which is creating health hazards in the area concerned.
In our view, the complaint raised in this application can be looked into at the first instance by Local Administration, for the purpose whereof, we constitute a joint Committee of State of PCB and District Magistrate, Bokaro who shall look into the matter and take appropriate remedial action, if any, in accordance with law.
The District Magistrate, Bokaro shall be nodal agency for coordination and compliance.
With the above direction/observations, this OA is disposed of.
