Judgment
The Office Objection is overruled.
The petitioner is a political party which has sought permission to hold a Dharna under the leadership of its State President and Floor Leaders on 5th and 6th September, 2026 at Dharna Chowk, near Indira Park, Hyderabad respectively.
The petitioner claims to have made representations or petitions on 28.08.2026 and 01.09.2026 to the 2nd, 3rd and 4th respondents. However, the respondents have not granted any permission and the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that unofficially, it is learnt that the respondents are going to refuse the permission. Therefore, the petitioner, as an abundant caution, filed this Writ Petition and moved it as a lunch motion.
Learned Assistant Government Pleader for Home, on oral instructions, submitted that permission can be granted only for one day and granting permission for two days would be difficult as State Assembly Session is going to commence on 7th September, 2026. He submitted that the respondents would grant permission on 5th September, 2026.
In view thereof, the respondents are directed to grant permission to the petitioner to hold the Dharna on 5th September, 2026 at Dharna Chowk, near Indira Park, Hyderabad and accordingly, all other permissions shall be granted.
The Writ Petition is accordingly disposed of. No order as to costs.
Pending miscellaneous petitions, if any, in this Writ Petition shall stand closed.
