Judgment
This original application has been registered under Section 14& 15 of National Green Tribunal Act, 2010 (hereinafter referred to as ‘NGT Act, 2010’) on a letter petition dated18.01.203 sent by Balbir Dass S/o Mal Das, R/o Village Kadon, Tehsil Payal, District Ludhiana.
The complaint is that one Parminder Singh, R/o Village Kaddon, Tehsil Payal, District Ludhiana Punjab is indulged in cutting of about 40 trees at Panchayati land of Village Kaddon without any requisite permission from concerned authorities and causing damage to environment.
In our view, the issue raised in this application can be looked into by concerned local authorities, for the purpose whereof, we constitute a joint committee comprising District Forest Officer, Ludhiana and District Magistrate, Ludhiana who shall look into the matter, visit the site, collect relevant information and if finds violation, would take appropriate remedial action including, preventive and punitive action (including, assessment of environmental compensation) within two months.
The nodal agency will be District Forest Officer, Ludhiana for coordination and compliance.
An action taken report may be filed with the Registrar General, NGT by e-mail at [email protected] preferably in the form of searchable PDF/OCR Support PDF and not in the form of Image PDF. If any further direction is found necessary, he may place the matter before the Bench.
A copy of this order along with a copy of complaint be forwarded to District Forest Officer, Ludhiana and District Magistrate, Ludhiana by email for compliance.
