This Court had issued Rule on 04.12.2020 baring the respondent No.8, the rest were served and the notice of Rule qua him remained unserved all
throughout. Therefore, on 08.07.2021, this Court had directed the service to be effected by the officer not below the rank of A.S.I. with a report to the
Dy.S.P. of the area.
Today, Mr.V.R.Vaniya, Police Inspector, Vadodara City Police Station is present before us through the video conference, who has apologized for
and on behalf of the P.S.I., Mr.S.K.Desai, who had been handed-over the task of serving this person. According to him, once the notice or summon is
received from the High Court, it is ordinarily being handed-over to the P.S.I. for service. In the instant case, baring respondent No.8, the rest were
duly served. As the respondent No.8 has changed his address and as this aspect had come to his notice on his attention being drawn by the learned
APP, he ensures the service to be effected in the shortest period.
Let fresh Notice of Rule be issued, returnable on 05.08.2021. Service shall be effected henceforth. Mr.V.R.Vaniya has ensured that the regular
reporting of the same shall be made to the Court.
Paper-book shall be filed by the applicant-State within a period of ten days.
Over and above the regular mode of service, direct service TODAY is also permitted through e-mode.
