The petitioner through the instant petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondents to decide his appeal in a time bound manner.
The petitioner assailing order dated 16.02.2024 (Annexure P-12) passed by Passport Authority, has preferred appeal before Appellate Authority which is pending adjudication.
Mr. H.P.S. Ishar, Advocate, at the outset, submits that grievance of the petitioner would be redressed, if respondents are directed to decide his appeal in a time bound manner. He further submits that case of the petitioner is squarely covered by judgment of Karnataka High Court in Master Arya Selvakumar Priya v. Joint Secretary (PSP) And Chief Passport Officer Ministry of External Affairs, (Karnataka) (Writ Petition No. 21642 of 2022).

Ms. Neha Sharma, Senior Panel Counsel for the respondents-Union of India, who on advance notice is present in Court, accepts notice and waives service.
With the consent of both the parties, the matter is taken up today itself for final disposal.
Learned counsel for respondents-UOI submits that Competent Authority would look into grievance of petitioner and pass an appropriate order expeditiously.
There is limited prayer of the petitioner. Considering the limited prayer, the respondents are hereby directed to decide her appeal within 8 weeks from today in accordance with law.
