The petitioner has approached this court for a direction for an early disposal of OP (MV) No.482 of 2020 pending before the MACT, Thrissur in
relation to a motor accident, which resulted in the death of one Abdul Hakeem, who is the son of the petitioner. The grievance of the petitioner is that
he has availed a loan of Rs.15 lakh mortgaging the property as collateral security and finds it difficult to repay. In the meanwhile, the son met with the
accident and the only source of income for them is lost. Since, the family in utter penury, the petitioner seeks an early disposal of the above OP (MV).
Evidently, the application is of 2020. Though I am convinced about the urgency expressed by the petitioner, it seems that the matter is a
comparatively new one and several older claim petitions, especially in relation to death cases are pending before that Tribunal.
However, having regard to the entire facts and after hearing the learned Counsel for the petitioner and learned Standing Counsel for the third
respondent, I am inclined to dispose of the original petition itself with a direction to the court below to expedite the completion of pleadings, if the
pleadings are not complete and to try to dispose of OP (MV) No. 482/2020 as expeditiously as possible, within the possible limit.
The original petition is disposed of.
