Routhula Rajesh vs State Of Telangana

Alleging interference into the personal life and liberty of the petitioner by calling the petitioner to police station and making the petitioner to sit from morning till evening in the police station and trying to arrest the petitioner in connection with Crime No.134 of 2026 of Laxmidevipalli Police Station, Bhadradri Kothagudem District only on the ground that he is friend of the accused in the said crime, this Writ Petition is filed.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that it was only on the ground that the petitioner is the friend of the accused in the subject crime and without there being any case against the petitioner, the petitioner was being called to the police station.

Learned Assistant Government Pleader for Home, on oral instructions, submitted that the petitioner was never called to the police station and he was contacted only as part of investigation into Crime No.134 of 2026.

In view of these submissions and particularly the submission of the petitioner that he is ready to cooperative with the investigation, the petitioner is directed to appear before the police concerned on one instance when the police call him and answer their questions and thereafter, the petitioner shall not be called to the police station without any further justifiable cause.

The Writ Petition is accordingly disposed of. No order as to costs.

Pending miscellaneous petitions, if any, in this Writ Petition shall stand closed.
