Pursuant to the rule issued on November 15, 2022, Patricia Nongsiej is present in Court and an affidavit has been filed on her behalf.

It is suggested on behalf of Patricia Nongsiej that the proceeds from the compensation received were immediately invested in purchase of other land. It is submitted that details of the land have been indicated in the affidavit. Upon the Court’s request to Patricia Nongsiej to deposit the title-deeds pertaining to the parcels of land, it is submitted that the same have been taken over by the inquiry officer.

The applicant will deal with the affidavit and the submission made to the effect that the title-deeds pertaining to the parcels of the land are in the custody and possession of the inquiry officer.

In view of Ms Nongsiej’s presence in Court today, her personal appearance is dispensed with on her undertaking to be present in Court when next called for.

Affidavits have apparently been filed on behalf of the two officials pertaining to their assets.

Let the matter appear a fortnight hence.
