Mr. N.D. Chullai, learned AAG assisted by Ms. Z.E. Nongkynrih, learned GA, today has produced a covering letter dated 03.12.2024, which contains a letter dated 20.11.2024, from the Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, Revenue & Disaster Management Department to the Ministry of Home Affairs, wherein the details as to the land that had been taken for Border Fencing, and the amount of compensation as requested, has been detailed.

It is submitted by the learned AAG that accordingly the State Government is awaiting further action from the Union Government.

Dr. N. Mozika, learned DSGI assisted by Ms. K. Gurung, learned counsel appearing for the Union Government has submitted that on receipt of the details, the Ministry of Home Affairs has asked the State Government to provide the award statement of the Collector, if any.

Dr. N. Mozika, learned DSGI also submits that further instructions, if any, will be given on affidavit.
