By an order dated 17 August 2022, passed by a co-ordinate bench of this Court, a statement on behalf of the applicant was recorded that the applicant without prejudice to his rights and contentions shall deposit 75% of the compensation in the Registry of this Court within six weeks from the date of the said order, which was to expire on 28 September 2022.
Learned Counsel for the applicant submits that the total amount would come to Rs.10,70,000/-. He states that a Demand Draft to the amount of Rs.8,02,500/- is ready which would be deposited in the Registry today during the course of the day and the balance amount shall be deposited within four weeks from today.
Learned Counsel for the respondent no.1 has raised an objection to any further extension being granted. However, considering the order dated 17 August 2022 passed by this Court and the nature of the proceedings, in my opinion, it is in the interest of justice that time be extended. It is accordingly finally extended for a period of four weeks from today to deposit the balance amount.
Application stands disposed of.
