Judgment

1) The Criminal Petition, under Section 438 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, is filed on behalf of the petitioners/A.1, A.2, A.3, A.5, A.6, A10 and A.11 respectively, to grant anticipatory bail in connection with Crime No.166 of 2022 of Puthalapattu Police Station, Chittoor District.
2) A case has been registered against the petitioners and others for the offences punishable under Sections 307, 427, 341, 143, 147, 148 read with 149 IPC. The allegations are that on 04.08.2022 at about 7.30 PM, the petitioners and others, totally 200 in number, attacked defacto complainant P.Sreekanth Reddy and one Kumar, with sticks, knives and iron rods, while they were going by car, caused damage to the car and attempted to kill him. However, due to intervention of some persons, the same could be averted.
3) Heard. Perused the record. It is alleged that on the date of alleged incident, all the accused, 200 in number, armed with sticks, knives and iron rods, attacked the car of the defacto complainant and damaged the car, and the accused tried to attack the defacto complainant also, but on the intervention of other persons, they were saved. It is brought to the notice of this Court that the complainant received simple injuries. In view of the aforesaid circumstances, this Court feels that it is a fit case to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioners, however, on conditions.
4) Accordingly, in the event of their arrest, petitioners shall be released on bail on each of them executing a personal bond a sum of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees ten thousand only), with two sureties each for the like sum to the satisfaction of the arresting police officials and also on condition that the petitioners shall co-operate with investigation and make themselves available for investigation as and when required and that they shall not directly or indirectly make any threat, inducement or promise to any of the witnesses acquainted with the facts of the case so as to dissaude him from disclosing such facts to the court or to police officer.
5) Accordingly, the Criminal Petition is allowed.
Consequently, miscellaneous applications pending, if any, shall stand closed.
