Judgment
Grievance in this application is against encroachment of pond in village Gobindpura, Tehsil Jagadhri, District Yamuna Nagar, Haryana in Khasra No. 1347/246/2 (18-12) and 470 (8-3). The encroachment is by Municipal Corporation in Yamuna Nagar for setting up of its own office.Apart from encroachment, there is dumping of debris and failure to maintain the pond. Complaint dated 03.01.2020 has been made on the portal of the 'Haryana Pond and Waste Water Management Authority', but no action has been taken. The area is a 'dark zone' in terms of ground water. Thus, the pond has great significance for ground water recharge, water availability and other environmental functions.
Having regard to the averments in the application, it appears to be necessary to ascertain the factual position from a joint Committee of District Magistrate, Yamuna Nagar and State PCB. State PCB will be nodal agency for coordination and compliance. The report may be furnished within two months by e-mail at [email protected] preferably in the form of searchable PDF/ OCR Support PDF and not in the form of Image PDF.
