This Court vide order dated 24.03.2023, has directed the petitioner herein to make a detailed representation for the payment of Rehabilitation and Resettlement Statutory benefits to the 4th respondent Special Deputy Collector(Land Acquisition), Somasila Project, within a period of four (04) weeks from the date of receipt of the order. On receiving such application from the petitioners, the 4th respondent has directed to examine whether the petitioners are entitled for any such relief, keeping in view Section 24 (A) of the Right to Fair Compensation Act and pass appropriate orders and communicate the same to the petitioners herein.
As the respondents have not passed any orders, the present Contempt Case came to be filed seeking to punish the respondent under Section 10 and 12 of the Contempt of Courts Act.
After filing of the contempt case, the respondent has passed the order on 07.03.2024, which was not communicated to the petitioners herein and the same was served along with reply to Contempt Case. As seen from the proceedings dated 07.03.2024, the respondent has passed orders on the representation made by the petitioners herein. If the petitioners aggrieved by the order dated 07.03.2024, they may take steps, in accordance with law.
Accordingly, the contempt case is closed.
As a sequel, miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this Contempt Case shall stand closed.
