Prayer in the instant petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India is for issuance of directions to respondents No.2 and 3 to provide protection of life and liberty to the petitioner at the hands of respondents No.4 and 5.
Learned counsel for the petitioner has contended that the petitioner is having threat at the hands of private respondents as he is president of Shri Atma Nand Jain Sabha, District Ludhiana and respondents No.4 and 5 along with others are trying to grab the officiating position of the petitioner by illegal means. They have threatened him to leave the said position and otherwise they would eliminate him. It has also been submitted by learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner has already moved a representation dated 16.06.2023, Annexure P-3 to respondent No.2, but no action has been taken upon the same.
In view of the above, the petition is disposed of with a direction to respondents No.2- Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana, to look into the representation dated 16.06.2023, Annexure P-3 and to take appropriate action, if any required, as per law, within a period of one month.
