Judgment

In this writ petition the petitioner has prayed for the following relief:
“Directing the respondent No. 3 & 4 to Release one Time Compensation of the Petitioner’s Land Measuring 9 kanals & 12 Marlas situated in Khasra No. 118 (Old Khasara No. 289)Min. at Village Dharmal, Tehsil Jammu North & District Jammu as per the rates prescribed in Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir as on date as in principle approval for acquisition of requisitioned land measuring 18 kls 08 Mls (2.3 acres) in Village Dharmal, Tehsil Jammu North, Distt. Jammu which includes the aforesaid land of the petitioner has been granted of the respondent No. 1 Vide GOI, MoD letter No. 265/SO(II)/D(Lands)/2022/(Pt.) dated 22.07.2022.
When the matter is taken up today, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner would feel satisfied in case this petition is treated as a representation and the respondents are directed to consider this representation and pass a speaking order within a reasonable period of time.
On the other hand, Mr. S S Nanda, learned Sr. AAG appearing for respondent No. 4 submits that he has no objection to the same.
In view of the above, this writ petition is disposed of, at its threshold, by directing the respondent Nos. 2 and 3 to treat this petition as representation and decide the same by passing a speaking order thereon within a period of four weeks from the date a copy of this order along with complete set of paper book of this petition is served upon them.
It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the case of the petitioner.
