Prafulla C. Pant, J.—Applicant- Vikram Singh Rawat, who is in jail in connection with crime No. 2 of 2011, relating to offences punishable u/s 9/51/52 of Wild Life Protection Act, 1972, and u/s 147, 353, 332 IPC, P.S. Rikharikhal, District Pauri Garhwal, has sought his release on bail.

Heard learned Counsel for the parties.

Admittedly, the leopard injured three persons. And therafter, said animal entered in a cow-shed of fourth person. It is alleged that thereafter the villagers closed the door of cow-shed, and killed the leopard. Learned Counsel for the Applicant submitted that it a mob mentality reaction after the leopard injured three persons. He further pleaded that human lives are more important than the life of animal.

Having considered submissions of learned Counsel for the parties, and after going through the papers on record, this Court is of the view that Applicant deserves bail.

The bail application is allowed. Let the Applicant Vikram Singh Rawat be released on bail on executing personal bond, and furnishing two sureties each of like amount to the satisfaction of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Pauri Garhwal.
