Judgment
Antony Dominic, J.—Heard the counsel appearing for the petitioner and learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents.
Exts.P1 and P2 show that petitioner has passed B. Sc from Bharathiyar University with Plant Bio Technology as main subject and M. Sc (Bio Technology) from the same University. Petitioner applied for admission to B. Ed course conducted by the second respondent, a self financing institution established by the first respondent University. She was selected but, on the ground that her basic qualification is not recognised by the first respondent University, she has not been admitted to the college.
According to the petitioner, she has applied to the first respondent University for recognition of the qualification and that orders are awaited. It is stated that, pending orders, she should be admitted to the course at least on a provisional basis, as otherwise, according to her, prejudice will be caused.
Admittedly, petitioner possess Degree and PG Degree as claimed by her and only inadequacy is that the said qualification of the petitioner is not recognised by the first respondent University. Going by the pleadings, she has also submitted application to the University and orders thereon are awaited. Considering these facts and also taking note of the fact that the petitioner has already been selected for admission, I direct the second respondent to provisionally grant admission to the petitioner, provided vacancies are still available. However, it is made clear that the admission of the petitioner so granted will be subject to the outcome of the orders to be passed by the University on the application filed by the petitioner seeking recognition of her basic qualifications.
Petitioner to produce a copy of this judgment and writ petition before the second respondent for compliance.
Writ petition is disposed of as above.
