The present Contempt Petition has been filed raising the grievance that the order passed by this Court on 16.11.2011 read with order dated 07.12.2011 and 19.05.2009 has not been complied with.

The aforesaid order is in terms of an earlier order passed by the Division Bench of this Court in SWP No. 809/2001, decided on 08th May, 2017 titled, "Provincial Power Employees Union and others Vs. State of J&K and ors."

Learned counsel for the respondents submitted that in a challenge by the State to the aforesaid Division Bench order, Hon'ble the Supreme Court in SLP No.2952/2019 had stayed the operation of the judgment dated 08th May, 2017.

In view of the aforesaid development, order passed by the learned Single Bench of this Court cannot be implemented.

Learned counsel for the respondents further submitted that the moment the matter pending before Hon'ble the Supreme Court is decided, the judgment shall be implemented in its letter and spirit in the case in hand as well.

In view of the aforesaid development, present contempt petition is disposed of at this stage, however, with liberty to the petitioners to get the same revived in case need arises.
