Judgment
Kalyan Jyoti Sengupta, C.J.—This petition is filed for the alleged inaction on the part of the respondents in taking action pursuant to the enquiry into the allegations levelled against the A.P. State Haj Committee for misuse of Government Funds. It is alleged that only appointment of enquiry officers was made and no action was taken by the respondents.
In the counter affidavit filed by respondent No. 2, it has been stated in paragraph-7 that both the Enquiry Officers, namely Mr. Mirza Hasan Ali Baig and Sri M.A. Gafoor, have submitted their enquiry reports on 10.12.2012 and 11.06.2012 and the said enquiry reports are under examination before the Government and it may take some more time to finalize the action to be taken on the said enquiry reports.
The Enquiry Officers were appointed on 4.4.2012, i.e., more than one year back. Therefore, it cannot be said that Government has not taken any action in the matter. However, it appears that the enquiry reports were submitted on 10.12.2012 and 11.6.2012, but why the Government sits over the matter till date is not explained before us.
We, therefore, direct the Government to finalize action on the reports submitted by the Enquiry Officers within a period of one month from the date of communication of this order. The Writ Petition is accordingly disposed of. No order as to costs.
