Kanwaljit Singh Ahluwalia, J.—Issue notice of motion.

On asking of the Court, Mr. J.S. Bhullar, Assistant Advocate General, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of Respondents No. 1 to 4.

During the course of arguments, learned Counsel for the Petitioner submits that even though he has made multiple prayers in the petition, yet he will confine the petition to the following two prayers:

a) Life and liberty of the Petitioner, who is a complainant of case FIR No. 20 dated 13.3.2011, registered at Police Station Majitha, Amritsar (Rural), under Sections 307, 380, 427, 436 and 120-B IPC, be protected.

b) Furthermore, investigation of the above said FIR should culminate within a stipulated time.

Bhullar has perused contents of the petition. He has submitted that the State shall make every endeavour to conclude the investigation of the FIR within a reasonable time. On asking of the Court as to what should be reasonable time, Mr. Bhullar has submitted that within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order final report shall be submitted to the Court of Illaqa Magistrate along with the opinion of the Investigating Officer. The statement made by learned Counsel for the State answers the second prayer made by the Petitioner. Therefore, this Court need not to deliberate upon the same.

So far as the first prayer is concerned, the present petition is disposed of by directing Respondent No. 3-Station House Officer, Police Station, Majitha, to ensure necessary vigil that no harm is caused to the life of the Petitioner.
