Judgment
Gurvinder Singh Gill, J
The petitioner seeks issuance of directions to respondents No.2 and 3 to protect his life and liberty as he apprehends threat to the same at the hands of respondents No.5 to 7. The petitioner further prays for issuance of a direction for appropriate action against respondents No.5 to 7, who are arrayed as accused in FIR No. 196 dated 26.10.2023, Police Sttion Sadar Faridkot, District Faridkot, under Sections 336 and 427 IPC, lodged at the instance of the petitioner as the said accused have constantly been threatening the petitioner either to compromise the matter or to face dire consequences.
Having heard the learned counsel for the petitioner but without commenting anything as regards the veracity of the averments made in the petition, the instant petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Faridkot to get the representation dated 14.12.2023 (Annexure P-3) examined qua the alleged threat perception of the petitioner. In case, it is found that there is genuine threat to life and liberty of the petitioner, then necessary steps as warranted under law be taken thereupon at the earliest.
A copy of this order along with copy of representation dated 14.12.2023 (Annexure P-3) be sent to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Faridkot for necessary compliance.
