1.By order dated 20.04.2017, the matter was adjourned sine die and ordered to be connected with CWP No. 8353 of 2013.

A Division Bench of this Court vide order dated 15.05.2025 has adjudicated a bunch of petitions including CWP No. 8353 of 2013, titled as “Council of Secondary Education vs. Union of India and others”, which reads as:-

“1. By this common order, three writ petitions, the details of which have been given in the head note, are being decided as these petitions involve the same question of law on similar facts.

Since the controversy involved has now been settled by the Apex Court in W.P.(C)-676-2014 (Council of Secondary Education & Ors. Vs. State of Punjab & Ors.) by taking a view against the petitioner herein by upholding the reasonable restriction imposed by Section 17(1)(iii) of Punjab School Education Board Act 1969 no case for interference is made out.

Pending applications, if any, shall also stand disposed off.

All three writ petitions stand dismissed.”

In the wake of aforesaid order, the instant petition deserves to be dismissed and accordingly dismissed. Liberty is granted to the petitioner to move an appropriate application within one month from today, if cause survives.

Pending Misc. application(s), if any, shall stand disposed of.
