Judgment

The petitioner seeks issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus so as to direct the respondents to grant revised pay with respect to the period 01.01.2016 till 30.6.2021 and revised pension on account of such revised pay scales, on the basis of Gazette Notification dated 05.07.2021 (Annexure P-1) as well as other consequential benefits.
It has been submitted that although the petitioners had been raising their claim and had also sent a legal notice dated 11.9.2023 (Annexure P-8) but to no avail.
Notice of motion.
An advance copy of petition having been served upon the respondents, Mr. Inderpreet Singh Kang, AAG, Punjab who is present in the Court accepts notice.
Learned State counsel has submitted that since a legal notice is stated to have been sent by the petitioner, the respondents shall duly consider the same in accordance with law and pass an appropriate order.
In view of the aforesaid submission, the instant petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 - Secretary, Department of Public Works (B&R), Punjab to consider the legal notice dated 11.9.2023 (Annexure P-8) in accordance with law and to take a decision at the earliest by way of passing a speaking order.
A copy of this order along with copy of legal notice dated 11.9.2023 (Annexure P-8) be sent to respondent No.2- Secretary, Department of Public Works (B&R), Punjab so as to enable him to do the needful expeditiously preferably within a period of 4 months from today.
