This petition coming on for admission this day, the Court passed the following:
I have heard Mr. Bhupinder Pathania, learned counsel for the petitioner, and Ms. Devyani Sharma, learned counsel for the respondent-Himachal Pradesh Gramin Bank.
Ms. Devyani Sharma, learned counsel for the Bank, has opposed this petition on various grounds, including non-filing of the impugned order. She has also argued that on merits, this petition cannot be entertained because the only proceedings the bank has initiated, at this stage, is recovery of compensation in accordance with law.
Given above, I am of the considered view that instead of deciding this petition on merits, the purpose would be served, in case petitioner is afforded some reasonable time to comply with the orders.
Learned counsel for the Bank has opposed this request. However, given the COVID-19 Pandemic, financial problems are being faced by the people, as such, this Court turns down the objection of the respondent-Bank and extends the time to deposit the compensation amount as ordered by the concerned Court. Let compensation amount be deposited by 10th January, 2022.
With the aforesaid direction, the present petition is closed. The proceedings pending before the concerned Court shall be subject to this order. Pending application(s), if any, also stand disposed of in the above terms.
