By way of the present petition, the petitioner seeks setting aside and quashing the impugned letter dated 06th January, 2014 (Annexure-XIX)

issued by the Joint Secretary (Land), Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited. The petitioner also seeks directions to the respondents to pay the

compensation amount as awarded in the year 1974 along with interest and other ancillaries benefits in accordance with law.

The respondents No. 2 has filed an affidavit-in-opposition. An affidavit-in-opposition has also been filed on behalf of respondents No. 4 and 5.

After some arguments, Mr. K.C. Gautam, learned counsel for the petitioner seeks permission to withdraw the present petition with liberty to

approach the competent court in accordance with law. An application for withdrawal of the petition has also been filed by the learned counsel for

the petitioner which is taken on record.

Mr. K.P. Bhattacharjee, learned counsel for respondents No. 1, 2 and 3 and Mr. P. Nongbri, learned counsel for respondents No. 4 and 5

submit that they have no objection to the prayer made by counsel for the petitioner.

Having regard the facts and circumstances of the case and submissions made by learned counsel for the parties as well as the application for

withdrawal of the present petition filed on behalf of the petitioner, the writ petition is dismissed as withdrawn with the liberty aforesaid.
