Judgment
Heard.
By means of this petition moved under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, the petitioners have sought protection of life and liberty.
Learned Counsel for the petitioners submitted that petitioner No. 1 Khasti Danu and petitioner No. 2 Narendra Singh Danu are major. They are married to each other against the wishes of respondent Nos. 3 to 6. Their marriage is registered with Registrar, Hindu Marriage, Almora, as is apparent from annexure No. 5 to the writ petition.
Admit the petition.
Learned Counsel for the respondent Nos. 1 and 2 prays for and is allowed six weeks time to file counter affidavit.
Issue notice to respondent Nos. 3, 4, 5 & 6 who may file their counter affidavit within a period of six weeks.
Having considered the submissions of the learned Counsel for the parties present, and in view of the principle of law laid down in Lata Singh Vs. State of U.P. and Another, , as an interim measure, it is directed that on petitioners making representation to respondent Nos. 1 & 2, necessary protection shall be provided to them till the next date listing. (Interim Relief Application No. 7515 of 2010 stands disposed of).
List after six weeks.
