The present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a writ in the nature of Mandamus for issuance of directions to respondents No. 1 to 3 for safeguarding the life and liberty of the petitioner and to provide police security during the celebration of annual function on 01.10.2023 at Dera Shree 108 Sant Baba Garib Dass Ji alias Baba Fakir Dass Ji situated at Village Kot Ram Dass (Navi Abadi), Chuggitti, Tehsil and District Jalandhar, as respondents No.4 to 19 are bent upon threatening to disrupt the annual function and interfering into the peaceful and lawful possession of the petitioner and are threatening to interfere in the annual function to be held on 01.10.2023.

Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that there is an annual function which is to be organized on 01.10.2023 at Dera Shree 108 Sant Baba Garib Dass Ji alias Baba Fakir Dass Ji situated at Village Kot Ram Dass (Navi Abadi), Chuggitti, Tehsil and District Jalandhar and respondents No. 4 to 19 are bent upon threatening to disrupt the annual function and therefore adequate police security may be provided so that no untoward incident takes place in the aforesaid function which is scheduled to be held on 01.10.2023.

Mr. Harsimar Singh Sitta, learned DAG, Punjab has stated that he has received an advance copy of the present petition and has sought instructions from SI Jasbir Singh and has stated that adequate measures will be taken so that no untoward incident takes place in the annual function as aforesaid.

Learned counsel for the petitioner has stated that in view of the statement made by the learned Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, he does not wish to press the present petition and the same may be disposed of in view of the statement made by the learned Deputy Advocate General, Punjab.

Disposed of accordingly.
