Rita Devi and Fuchi Kumari vs The State of Jharkhand

Heard Learned Counsel for the petitioners as also Learned Counsel for the State. The petitioners have been made accused in Putki P.S. Case No. 54 of 2011 corresponding to G.R. No. 1754 of 2011 for the offence under Sections 304B, 120B of the Indian Penal Code.

The petitioners are the sisters-in-law (Nanad and Gotni) of the deceased and there is allegation against the in-laws including the petitioners to have subjected the deceased to cruelty and torture and to have committed her dowry death. In the facts of this case, particularly in view of the petitioners being the sisters-in-law of the deceased, I am inclined to release the petitioners on bail. Accordingly, the petitioners, Rita Devi and Fuchi Kumari are directed to be released on bail, on furnishing bail bonds of Rs. 10,000/-(Rupees Ten Thousand) each with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of Sri Y. K. Singh, learned Judicial Magistrate, Dhanbad, or his successor, in Putki P.S. Case No. 54 of 2011 corresponding to G.R. No. 1754 of 2011.
