The learned Deputy Solicitor General of India submits that she represents Respondent No.8 (Union of India, through the Secretary, Ministry of Law and Justice). However, it is pointed out that the issue sought to be raised by the Petitioner in the instant Writ Petition is not dealt with by the Respondent No.8 but instead by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. Learned Senior Counsel for the Petitioner desires some time to take steps.
The learned Counsel appearing for State-Respondents No.1 and 2 submits that although the Writ Petition has been amended by the Petitioner, on perusal thereof, they desire to rely upon the Counter-Affidavit filed earlier and accordingly there is no need to file amended Counter-Affidavit. The learned Senior Counsel for the Petitioner submits that the Rejoinder filed earlier to the unamended Counter-Affidavit filed by State-Respondents No.1 and 2 shall, therefore, be relied upon by them.
