Judgment
Antony Dominic, J.—Petitioner participated in On-the-spot competition ( Higher Secondary Level) in the Kerala School Scientific, Mathematical Science, Social Science Work Experience Competition organised by the 3rd Respondent. The item in which he participated was "Food Preservation" and he was awarded third prize with "A" grade. According to the Petitioner, competition was held on 2.12.2010 and result was published in the internet only in the evening of 3.12.2010, as a result of which he could not file an appeal. It is stated that there was no proper evaluation and it was therefore that he was awarded only third prize.
Learned Government Pleader, who has obtained instructions in the matter, submits that results wereevaluated only in accordance with the norms laid down in the Manual. It is also stated that the results werepublished at the Venue at 8 a.m. on 3.12.2010 and that in the Web Site the results were published on 3.12.2010itself at 8.30. p.m. It is stated that despite the above, Petitioner did not file any appeal nor did he approach any one of the authorities complaining of the results. It is also submitted that the first prize winner has secured 249 marks. The Petitioner has secured only 187 marks.
From the above submissions made by the learned Government Pleader, it is evident that the case of the Petitioner that results were published only belatedly, as a result of which, he could not file any appeal is factually erroneous. That apart, there is wide disparity in the marks awarded to the Petitioner and the first prize winner. For this reason, I am not persuaded to think that any injustice has been caused to the Petitioner.
Writ petition is dismissed.
