The applicant has applied for the post of Constable (Executive) Female in the Delhi Police. There is a discrepancy with regard to her height. She has also obtained a certificate from a private hospital which says that her height is 157.3 cm, whereas the requirement is 157 cm. But, during the course of measurement, her height was measured as 156 cm.
The applicant has made then and there an appeal under the provision but, till date the same is pending and she is not satisfied with the recruitment process undertaken.
As far as, we understand that in the matters of recruitment, there shall be a transparency for the citizen before the court of law. So we hereby direct the concerned authorities to constitute a Committee qua the Commissioner of Police who may consider another Expert Body to examine her height. If she is found suitable she may be offered appointment in accordance with law. If she is not found suitable, her case may be rejected. The exercise in this behalf shall be completed within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
With this observation, the OA is disposed of. No costs.
