Judgment

The petitioner has prayed for grant of regular bail in FIR No. 136/2017 dated 8.7.2017, registered under Sections 21 of NDPS, Act, 14 of Foreigner Act and 420, 467, 468 and 471 of Indian Penal Code at Police Station, Kullu.
Status report filed by the respondent-State has been gone into.
Learned Additional Advocate General submits that trial in the aforesaid FIR is presently going on and out of 18 prosecution witnesses, 7 have already been examined. Trial is now stated to be fixed for recording of further evidence on 22.9.2020. In the aforesaid facts and circumstances, learned Counsel for the petitioner seeks permission to withdraw the bail petition with liberty to move afresh at an appropriate stage in accordance with law, if so advised. Accordingly, this petition is dismissed as withdrawn with leave and liberty as prayed for.
Considering the fact that the petitioner is a foreigner with Nigerian nationality and behind the bar w.e.f. 7.7.2017, it is expected that learned trial Court shall make an earnest endeavour to conclude the trial as expeditiously as possible.
Registry is directed to bring this order to the notice of learned Sessions Judge, Kullu forthwith.
