Judgment
ORDER:
Mr. G.Dinesh Patil, learned counsel appears for the petitioner. Mr. T.Sharath, learned Standing Counsel for Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (hereinafter referred to as ‘the University’), appears for respondent No.2.
With the consent of the parties, the writ petition is heard finally.
This writ petition is filed for the following relief:
“For the reasons stated in the accompanying Affidavit it is pray that this Hon’ble Court may be pleased to issue an appropriate Writ Order or Direction more particularly one in the nature of Mandamus declaring in action on the part of the respondents in considering the petitioner is a NRI candidate for all the purpose of admission into MBBS and BDS pursuant to NEET UG 2026 for MBBS/BDS Admissions under Management Quota 2026 under aegis of Respondent No 2 i.e. KNR University of Health Sciences, Telangana State is highly illegal, arbitrary and violation of Principles of Natural Justice and in violation of Articles 14, 21 of the Constitution of India; Consequently to direct the 2 Respondent to treat the Petitioner as NRI Candidates pursuant to NEET UG 2026 for MBBS/BDS Admissions under Management Quota 2026 under aegis of Respondent No 2 i.e. KNR University of Health Sciences, Telangana State and to pass such other orders as the Hon’ble Court may deem fit in the circumstances of this case and in the interest of justice.”
Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that petitioner is inhabitant of Mahaboob Nagar District and born in County of Dallas Texas on 16.12.2008 and the birth certificate issued by County Clerk/Registrar of Dallas County, Texas dated 02.12.2009 is also filed in proof of the same. The petitioner appeared for NEET UG-2026 and secured 263 marks and All India Rank of 751879 and a category rank of 329706. Pursuant to the Notification dated 04/05.08.2026, petitioner registered online, uploaded the certificates and paid the processing fee of Rs.12,000/- under Management Quota on 18.08.2026. He further submitted that petitioner submitted an online representation to the University on 11.09.2026 requesting to treat her as NRI candidate pursuant to NEET UG 2026 for MBBS/BDS Admissions under Management Quota, 2026 under aegis of the University, but the same has not yet been considered. He further submitted that the University be directed to decide the said online representation in a time bound manner.
Learned Standing Counsel for the University submitted that the petitioner’s representation shall be dealt with by the University in accordance with law.
Accordingly, the instant Writ Petition is disposed of directing the University to decide the petitioner’s online representation dated 11.09.2026 as per the grounds taken in it and in accordance with law, by passing a reasoned order before the next counselling. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the case. There shall be no order as to costs.
Miscellaneous applications pending, if any, shall stand closed.
