This petition is filed seeking expeditious disposal of RCA No. 12 of 2025 pending before the Additional District Court, Tirur.
The landlord is the petitioner before the Rent Control Court, Parappanangadi. Being aggrieved by the judgment of the Rent Control Court dated 20.01.2025, the respondents therein, who are the tenants, have preferred the rent control appeal, which has been pending since February 2025.
Ms. Jyothis Mary, learned counsel for the petitioner, submits that unless the said appeal is heard within a specific time frame, the petitioner is likely to suffer irreparable loss.
It would not be proper to direct the Additional District Court, Tirur, to dispose of the appeal within a fixed time frame, as we are unaware of the pendency of matters before the said court. However, we grant liberty to the petitioner to move an application before the Additional District Court, Tirur, seeking early hearing of the appeal. In the event such an application is filed, the Additional District Court, Tirur, shall consider the said prayer and dispose of the appeal, as expeditiously as possible, subject to the convenience of the court. We further direct that adjournments shall not be granted, unless found to be unavoidable.
In view of the nature of the order passed, we do not propose to issue notice to the respondents.
The petition is accordingly disposed of.
