This petition is filed under Section 482 of Cr.P.C. seeking for quashment of FIR in Crime No.215 of 2020 on the file of the first respondent Police against the petitioners for the offence under Sections 147, 447, 294(b), 323 and 506 (2) of I.P.C and Section 4 of Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act, 2002.

The petitioners and respondent No.2 / defacto complainant have amicably resolved the disputes and filed a memo of compromise. Learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) reported no instructions.

Considering the submissions made above, the Officer in-charge of the High Court Legal Services Committee is directed to verify the identity of the defacto complainant and the accused persons with the aid of Aadhar card or any other recognised identity cards and ensure that the latest photograph of the defacto complainant and the accused are affixed on the memo of compromise. Further, the respondent police are also directed to be present and identified the defacto complainant and accused. After establishing identity, the Officer in-charge is directed to inquire, informally, as to whether there is any force or on either of the parties compelling them to compromise the case. The Officer in-charge is directed to file the report by 25.09.2023.

The parties are directed to appear before the Officer in-charge, High Court Legal Services Committee on 18.09.2023 and for filing the report, list on 25.09.2023.
