Judgment
This Writ Petition is filed challenging the inaction on the part of respondent No.3 in considering and disposing of the application of the petitioner dated 06.08.2025 seeking renewal of Arms Licence No.1076/Abid Road.
Heard Sri Harender Pershad, learned counsel representing learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Assistant Government Pleader for Home, appearing for respondents No.1 to 3.
Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is a renowned shooter and has made an application for renewal of his Arms Licence No.1076/Abid Road, well in advance. However, the respondent authorities have not considered the said application till date. It is further submitted that the petitioner is required to participate in shooting competitions, which are scheduled to be held shortly and therefore, his application may be directed to be considered expeditiously.
Having regard to the fact that the application of the petitioner has been pending for nearly a year, respondent No.3 is directed to consider and dispose of the application dated 06.08.2025, strictly in accordance with law, expeditiously preferably within a period of (01) week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
With the above observations and directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
Miscellaneous applications, if any, pending shall stand closed.
