Justice L. Narasimha Reddy:
This Contempt Petition is filed alleging that the respondents did not implement the direction issued by this Tribunal in OA No. 1459/2019. The direction was to implement the judgment of the Hon’ble Supreme Court in M. Nagaraj & Ors. Vs. UOI & Ors. JT 2006(9) SC 191.
We heard Shri Ajesh Luthra, learned counsel for the petitioners and Mr. VSR Krishna, learned counsel for the respondents.
In the recent past, the Hon’ble Supreme Court has reconsidered that judgment in the case of Jarnail Singh & Ors. Vs. Lachhmi Narain Gupta & Ors. (SLP No. 30621/2011). In view of this judgment, a total different picture altogether emerges.
The Contempt Petition is closed, leaving open to the petitioners to pursue the remedies in accordance with law.
