Judgment
The petitioners seek arrangements for the web casting and videography of the polling and police protection for the ensuing election to the Ward
Nos. I, II and VII of Pattuvam Grama Panchayat in Kannur District.
The Election Commission has agreed to provide videography, on meeting the cost by the petitioners in respect of Ward Nos. I and II. The Election
Commission also agreed to provide videography in respect of the polling station 1. The said submission is recorded. In regard to the Ward No. I and II,
the petitioners shall make a request before the District Election Officer. If any payment has been effected by the petitioners, necessary arrangement
shall also be made available to provide videography of the polling process at Ward Nos. I and II. If the petitioners want to have videography in respect
of the other booth, they have to move the District Election Officer and effect necessary payment for the same. The Election Commission submits that
sufficient police personnel are deployed to maintain law and order in order to conduct a smooth and fair election. That submission is recorded.
The writ petition is disposed of as above.
