Judgment
Grievance in this application is as follows:-
“We are affected by the Crasher "SRC Project Private Limited, Heavy Civil Constructors, Regd Office: 4-B, Lakshmipuram, Gandhi Road, Salem - 636007. Quarry Address: Ondikadai, Panamarathupatti, Salem- 636204." They are violating the rules and regulations. They are producing more pollution to environment. We can't breathe because of pollution. Our Agriculture land cultivation also spoiled, too many people died because of this pollution.
This Quarry running last 21 Years without any stop. They are using explosives to break the stones. We can't hear that sounds, and can't tolerate vibrations. Our homes walls got broken, and Agriculture wells broken, because of that high vibration from the Roll blasting.
People are affected by Cancer because of this pollution. Forest animals are getting scared because of high sound and vibrations.
The people around the Crasher are getting died because of Air pollution, Water Pollution, Environmental pollution, Food poison, Etc by the Quarry.”
We are of the view that the grievance needs to be looked into and remedial action taken, following due process of law by Tamil Nadu State PCB and District Magistrate, Salem. In case there is any damage to the houses by the quarrying activities, the affected victims may be provided compensation which may be collected from the violators Mining Operators, particularly with regard to blasting.
An action taken report may be filed within two months with the Registrar General of this Tribunal by e-mail at [email protected] preferably in the form of searchable PDF/ OCR Support PDF and not in the form of Image PDF. If found necessary, the Registrar General may place the matter before the Bench for further directions.
Subject to above, the application is disposed of.
A copy of this order along with the copy of compliant be forwarded to Tamil Nadu State PCB and District Magistrate, Salem by e-mail for compliance.
