The petitioners seek issuance of directions to the respondents to protect their lives and liberty as they apprehend threat to the same having received telephone calls from one Harry.
Learned counsel submits that although representations dated 05.03.2024 and 28.03.2024 (Annexures P-2 and P-3) were submitted by the petitioners to the authorities concerned but to no avail. It has also been submitted that none of the petitioners have earlier approached this Court seeking any such directions.
Notice of motion.
At this stage, Mr. Gauravdeep Singh Dhaliwal, AAG, Punjab, who is present in the Court accepts notice.
Having heard the learned counsel for the petitioners, but without commenting anything as regards the veracity of the averments made in the petition, the same is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.3-Senior Superintendent of Police, Ferozepur City, District Ferozepur, to get representations dated 05.3.2024 and 28.03.2024 (Annexures P-2 and P-3) examined qua the alleged threat perception of the petitioners in accordance with law. In case, it is found that there is genuine threat to life and liberty of the petitioners, then necessary steps as warranted under law be taken thereupon.
A copy of this order along with copy of representations 05.3.2024 and 28.03.2024 (Annexures P-2 and P-3) be sent to respondent No.3-Senior Superintendent of Police, Ferozepur City, District Ferozepur for necessary compliance.
